Emmy Blaq (born Ikechukwu Emmanuel Chima) is a Nigerian hype man, singer, comedian and content creator, known as the G.O.A.T. of Hype. Raised in Auchi, Edo State, he worked as a generator repairer, barber and fashion designer before one performance at a fast-food restaurant turned him into a hype man. He has worked with Waje, DJ Kaywise and Peruzzi, performed at the Cameroon International Music Festival, and released a run of singles including Water Water Yansh and Go Crazy. He speaks up for fair pay and recognition for hype men across Nigeria. He had 1.7 million followers on TikTok in October 2026.

Emmy Blaq, born Ikechukwu Emmanuel Chima, is a Nigerian hype man, singer, comedian and content creator from Auchi, Edo State, raised in an Igbo family from Imo State as the third of six children. Before entertainment he worked as a generator repairer, barber and fashion designer.
He started with comedy skits, then a performance entertaining the customers at Valchi, a fast-food spot in Auchi, turned him toward live hype for good. He refined his craft in Warri, Delta State. In 2021 the press credited him with starting the "Wife Material" slang that spread across Nigerian social media.
His music includes Water Water Yansh (2025) with OBA DDJ45 and Muripounds, picked for Apple Music's Afrobeats and Africa Now mixes, its sequel with Peruzzi (2026), Go Crazy (2026), Kick Poverty and a feature on Waje's Lover. He has performed at the Cameroon International Music Festival.
He describes his craft as psychological: reading the room, staying consistent whatever the crowd, and working closely with the DJ. ThisDay reports that he has spoken to Punch, Vanguard, The Guardian Nigeria and The Nation about the business of hype, and argues that hype men deserve a fair share of what they add to live events. He has 1.7 million followers on TikTok and 156,000 on Instagram (October 2026).
